Choose a song that you like. Base your choice upon the music and the lyrics, and not on the artist.
Post a link to the song on your blog, along with the text of the lyrics.
Due beginning of class, Thursday, 3/24.
Second
While listening to the song and/or reading the text, intuitively gather a collection of 40 images (photos, drawings, illustrations, etc) in response to the song. Choose and/or create images based upon your senses—looking and feeling—without thinking, expressing, interpreting or conceptualizing.
Glean your images from the following sources:
• 20 to 25 images from internet image searches - Pinterest, Google, etc.
• 5 to 10 images from printed magazine searches.
• 5 to 10 images from images around your home and/or apartment.
• At least 3 of your own images. These may be images you create (photographs, drawings, illustrations, doodles, sketches, etc) in response to the words, or images you have created in the past that reflect words from the song.
Due on your blog the beginning of class, Thursday, 3/30.
Third
Write a design brief for this project.
Post it to your blog by the end of class, Thursday, 3/30.
Fourth
Visually organize selections from your 40 lyric images into at least three image compositions.
Each must include between 3 to 9 images each. You may use any image, or part of any image, in all three compositions.
Post these compositions on your blog by the beginning of class on Tuesday, 4/4.
